Hired to stabilize entire technical environment for private school (grades 6 – 12) after departure of school’s only previous full-time IT person.

  • In the absence of virtually any standard IT documentation (Administrative authentication credentials) for ALL nodes in Data Center (Router, switches, firewall, backup devices, web-based surveillance camera DVR system, UPSs, and servers) as well as Desktop Fleet, was forced to perform (off hours) factory default resets on all nodes in Data Center—reconfigured the same and created thorough documentation in the format of my own proprietary workbook / template.

  • Implemented RADIUS (WPA2 Enterprise) wireless authentication, in place of previous local, user-based (WPA) authentication.
  • Upgraded outdated Cat-5 (not Cat-5e) cable throughout infrastructure, replacing with Cat-6.
  • Provide support for faculty & staff (80), and students (180) for desktops, and all Audio/Visual devices(wall-mounted and portable projectors, flat screens, and Smart Boards.
  • Accepted offer to teach class for Summer School program. Conceived broad lesson plan(s) to covereight classes. Subsequently have worked one-on-one with individual students.

  • Currently: Implementing MDM best practices, consolidating obsolete profiles / Apple IDs.
  • Currently: Creating second subnet (via VLAN at switch) to accommodate diminishing pool of IP’s due tomobile devices.

  • Created / deployed ‘.pkg’ & ‘.dmg’ images via JAMF/Casper Suite.

  • Performed audit of all (12) Xserves, reported findings / recommendations to Dir. of IT Client Mgmt andPublications Division. Subsequently standardized all Xserves to current version of Firmware, EFI & OS.

OS X Server Systems Administrator (2008)
R/GA Interactive – New York, NY / www.rga.com

Immediately tasked with XSAN upgrade project, after in-sourced consultant’s proprietary clone utility failed to execute weekend migration of 13 TB of RAW video files for mission-critical deadline:

  • Objective met successfully (automated via shell scripts), minimizing RAM utilization by GUI clone utilities, and by changing medium from link-aggregated Ethernet, to direct Fiber patch. Result: Significant difference in ratio of data-transfer of 2-to-1 (literally half the time) for transfer of 13 TB.
